Hypnosis for Smoking Cessation, Alcohol, Addiction

Hypnosis can be a powerful tool for helping people with substance, addiction and to quit smoking, but it is important to understand that it is not a “magic pill.”

Every person responds differently to hypnosis, and results can vary from one individual to another.

Some clients feel a significant shift after just one session and are able to shift the addcition immediately. Others may require additional reinforcement sessions to help strengthen new habits, thought patterns, and coping strategies. Both experiences are completely normal.

For this reason, I strongly recommend booking two sessions a week or so apart when committing to smoking cessation, drinking, and substance addiction with hypnosis. The first session is designed to begin shifting subconscious patterns, cravings, and behaviours associated with your addiction. The follow-up session helps reinforce those changes, strengthen motivation, and address any remaining triggers or challenges while the mind is still actively processing the initial work. Back-to-back support often creates stronger, longer-lasting results. If you do not require the second session, you can use it for reinforcement anyways or choose a different topic.

It is also important to understand that hypnosis works best when there is a genuine desire and willingness to quit. Hypnosis cannot force someone to stop any type of addiction if they are not personally ready or motivated to make the change. Clients who attend sessions only because they feel pressured by others — such as family members, partners, or employers — may experience more limited or temporary results.

Your involvement in the process matters. Hypnosis works best when combined with your personal commitment and openness to change. While hypnosis can help reduce cravings, increase motivation, and support positive mindset shifts, lasting success also depends on the choices you make AFTER the session.

Clients who approach the process with openness, consistency, and a sincere desire to become addiction free often experience the best outcomes. Hypnosis is a supportive tool — one that works with you, and requires you to participate in your outcome.

Before your session, you will be asked to complete a detailed intake form about your addiction habits, routines, triggers, and emotional attachments to your addiction. This information helps me better understand your unique relationship with your addiction so your hypnosis session can be tailored specifically to you and your needs. You can find the form below.

Hypnosis for any type of addiction is most effective when it is combined with active participation and a genuine commitment to change. By beginning the process before the session itself, clients often experience stronger reinforcement, increased motivation, and more lasting results.
